Advanced PSP - neck pillows?

Postby mdetri » Sat Sep 01, 2012 8:01 pm

My mom is in a nursing home and in a geri chair most of the time. Her neck stiffness seems to be getting worse, and it just seems like her head hangs on the regular pillow, especially when in the geri chair. Has anyone used any special type of neck pillow for comfort? Any tips on what has worked would be appreciated!

Rigidity was one of the worst symptoms we dealt with.

We used one of those Tempurpedic neck pillows. It was sort of like a high-end travel pillow. It was U-shaped. I don't see it on their website any more. I imagine you can find similar things elsewhere. I just did a web search of "memory foam U-shaped neck pillows" and saw a bunch.

Thanks so much, Robin. I tried a non-tempurpedic u-shaped neck pillow and mom didn't seem to like it. I do see some other standard pillows on Tempurpedic's website which I will try.
